Tors Park Devon – nestles against the rugged Exmoor coastline
Have you ever visited a place that was too amazing to put into words? Tors Park is exactly that. This special retreat is a one-of-a-kind.
Tors Park is a luxury self-catering accommodation in Devon featuring incredible riverside and sea views over Lynmouth Bay and the picturesque fishing harbour. I experienced an unforgettable staycation in Tors Park and I completely see why people fall in love with it!
When arriving at Tors Park, I was greeted with an amazing view of the blue sea. You feel like you are up quite high which instantly sets the scene of a relaxing break away in the peace and quiet.
Tors Park has apartments available for smaller groups or up to 6 people, so there’s something for everyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle. What’s more, their apartments are family and dog-friendly, making Tors Park the perfect place for an exceptional stay.
My Dachshund Molly was lucky enough to enjoy Tors Park too and inside the apartment, we kindly saw treats with her name on and a personalised letter. Throughout the apartment, the staff kindly left little gifts that referenced Devon and where we were. Luscombe Sicilian Lemonade, Burts Hand Crafted Chips and candles that were made in Devon along with a fresh bunch of flowers. This was a lovely gesture and personal touches like this really go a long way.
Ocean Penthouse
My accommodation during the trip was the beautiful Ocean Penthouse. This is a spacious, 3-bedroom apartment offering open-plan living for 6 people. It features stunning sea views across Lynmouth Harbour, in close proximity to local restaurants, cafes and unrivalled walking routes.
The Ocean Penthouse is the ideal accommodation for larger groups as it features a master bedroom located on a mezzanine level and comes equipped with an en suite bathroom in addition to two other spacious bedrooms. The kitchen, dining area, and living space provide open-plan living features with a double-height ceiling. The living space, as well as the two balconies and terrace, offer breathtaking views of Lynmouth Harbour and the surrounding area.
The Penthouse has a log burner which is perfect for cosy evenings in the winter, ensuites, Wi-Fi, and comes equipped with everything you could need during your stay for example towels, cutlery, washing machine tablets, tea, coffee and milk to get you started with your stay. The staff at Tors Park have everything covered during your stay!
Upon arrival, I found the penthouse to be immaculately clean and well-maintained. The attention to detail in terms of cleanliness did not go unnoticed, and it contributed to a comfortable and pleasant stay.
Breathtaking Views
One thing about Tors Park that is unmatched by anywhere else in the UK is the stunning views. There was nothing better than waking up to the sea views. All of the bedrooms had views of the sea which made waking up a joyful moment! We were blessed with sunny weather during our stay which meant we could explore the town and enjoy sitting on the balcony soaking up the sea breeze.
Location
The penthouse’s location is outstanding. Perched high above the crashing waves, it offers panoramic views of the ocean that stretch as far as the eye can see. The sound of the waves and the fresh sea breeze make it an ideal retreat for anyone seeking a serene escape.
Comfort
The penthouse offers a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The bedrooms are cosy and provide a good night’s sleep, and the open-plan layout of the living space adds to the sense of relaxation. The highlight, of course, is stepping out onto the private balcony and watching the sun dip below. We were lucky to witness a few sunsets during our stay and these golden moments were one to cherish. You really capture the perfect golden hour whilst staying at Tors Park as you are so high up.
Things to do
Lynmouth Harbour in Devon is a charming and picturesque destination that offers a variety of activities for visitors seeking to immerse themselves in the beauty of the coastal landscape. Here’s my list of things to do while staying at Tors Park:
The Cliff Railway, connecting Lynmouth to Lynton, is a unique attraction that provides stunning panoramic views of the coastline. The ride itself is an experience, as the charmingly vintage railway cars traverse the steep incline. The viewpoints at the top offer breathtaking vistas that are sure to leave a lasting impression.
Lynmouth Harbour is perfect for leisurely strolls along the waterfront. The scenic beauty of the harbour, with boats gently swaying in the water, is a sight to behold. The clean and well-maintained pathways offer serene views of the sea, making it an ideal spot for a romantic walk or a peaceful moment of solitude.
Lynmouth serves as a gateway to the exquisite Exmoor National Park. If you’re an outdoor enthusiast, you’re in for a treat. The park offers a range of activities such as hiking, cycling, and horse riding amidst lush greenery, rolling hills, and serene moorland. The diverse landscapes are a haven for nature lovers and photographers.
Embarking on a boat trip from Lynmouth Harbour is a fantastic way to experience the beauty of the coastline from a different perspective. Whether you’re interested in wildlife spotting or simply want to appreciate the rugged cliffs and hidden coves, the boat tours provide an enjoyable and informative experience.
If you’re looking for delicious fish and chips, the Esplanade located on the harbourside of Lynmouth is award-winning for a reason! We enjoyed a feast from this chip shop during one of the nights of our stay and we tucked in back at Tors Park at our dining table, with views overlooking the sea. It was absolutely delicious!
Hole in 1 Lynmouth was great fun for the entire family. You have a choice of 18-hole or 36-hole games and tennis. The Kiosk provides fresh coffee, drinks, sweets and ice cream.
The penthouse itself is a haven of luxury and comfort. The spacious living areas provided ample space for the family to spread out and relax. The tasteful coastal-themed decor instantly put us in a holiday mood, and the large windows allowed us to enjoy the ocean views from almost every corner of the space. The well-equipped kitchen made meal preparation a breeze, and the dining area was perfect for sharing memorable family dinners.
The combination of luxury, comfort, and family-friendly features made it an ideal choice for our holiday. Whether we were exploring the nearby attractions or simply unwinding in the penthouse, every moment was memorable. The attentive team ensured that all our needs were met promptly and with a smile.
In conclusion, the Ocean Penthouse in Tors Park is a rare find, offering an idyllic blend of stunning sunset views, luxurious accommodations, and family-friendly fun. Our family unanimously agrees that this 5-star escape deserves the highest praise for creating a holiday that will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
