The Roof Terrace at The Sloane Club x Whispering Angel Summer Pop-Up
When the sun is out in London, there is no greater occasion for drinking rosé on a buzzing terrace with friends, which is why The Roof Terrace at The Sloane Club has partnered with the iconic brand Château d’Esclans, famous for its Whispering Angel rosé, for a pop up of summer soirées and al fresco dining in the heart of Chelsea on The Roof Terrace which is now open.
May also heralds one of the borough’s most illustrious and bountiful occasions, Chelsea in Bloom from 20th to 26th May, an alternative floral art show, in association with the Royal Horticultural Society, where local retailers compete for the coveted awards. This year’s theme is Floral Feasts celebrating two of the things that Chelsea is most famous for: botanical heritage and fabulous food. The Sloane Club and Sloane Place are delighted to announce a partnership with florist June in March that will see the public spaces bedecked in floral displays in the floral designer’s signature style of wild abundance.
The Roof Terrace Opens for Summer
In partnership with Château d’Esclans, The Roof Terrace at The Sloane Club, is bringing a slice of Provence to Chelsea this summer. Whatever mood guests are in, they can choose one of the three rosés featured in the menu – the light and crisp Whispering Angel, the bigger and richer Rock Angel or the complex yet elegant Château d’Esclans. The food is equally fresh and indulgent, starting with sharer plates, moving into raw dishes, then colourful salads, plentiful mains and classic grills.
The delicious menu has been put together by Executive Chef Bernhard Mayer and Head Chef Maryono Maryon. The Roof Terrace Menu has a variety of light and fresh dishes celebrating summer flavours with a delicious botanical twist. Think edamame hummus & lemongrass sambal with a warm pita followed by spiced yellowfin tuna tartare and messy aromatic lemongrass chicken burger with black garlic aioli, pineapple salsa and Asian slaw.
Enjoy live music by the talented Katie plus Juan duo every first Sunday of the month, from 2 pm until 4:30 pm.
Chelsea in Bloom
This year the Sloane Club and Sloane Place are taking guests on a sensory journey from kitchen to table for Chelsea in Bloom, with a beautiful display created by the talented team from Floral Studio in June in March.
Using food as the inspiration, the display will lead guests through a cornucopia of indulgent colours, textures, and smells that are a feast for the eye and the senses. Viewers will feel transported to a classical still-life painting of a classic kitchen, with evocative elements such as traditional copper pots, pans, and utensils, alongside stoneware crockery and wooden market crates surrounded by a colourful assortment of fruits, bundles of root vegetables, and growing herbs and leaves. The piece will be bursting with hanging vines of fruit and vegetables to evoke the marketplace, flowing towards a mix of vine fruits and florals evocative of a grand banquet.
