The Phoenix at Westfield raises from the ashes!
Plenty of options here at this relaxing gastropub and bar, it would be a superb venue for a party night, celebration or company event.
With a great terrace bedecked with plants, flowers and displays you feel like you are in an oasis in the middle of busy London. The English Garden’, adjoins ‘The Nest’, another great area joined by a decorative floral arch designed by award winning floral designers. The Pheonix is place exuding class, with a range of art on display inside. It’s a pretty large venue, so ideal for groups, families etc to join together for one huge party! Don’t get me wrong though, it is a lively entertainment scene. The Phoenix has thought of everything, including an exclusive cookery school – perhaps a hen party event followed by cocktails and a great choice of food. It’s all there to enjoy and attention has been paid to every detail.
If you want even more fun, you can join in a choice of fantastic entertainment, every night of the week, from comedy to quiz evenings, music and more. There are even singles nights, so what’s not to love?
At the Phoenix, you can enjoy so much with a great menu combining street food and traditional grilled steaks and burgers. You can pop in for a pizza after work or a quick lunch. If cocktails aren’t top of your list, there are great choices of high quality spirits and wines and a selection of craft beers and ciders. A major attraction is the ‘Budvar beer tank’, very popular with all ages and delivered direct to the venue every week from the Czech Brewers.
We really enjoyed the Longlet Steak with well-seasoned skinny fries and a few Mexican cocktails which were really good – obviously a terrific mixologist here! The steak was so tender and juicy, perfectly cooked and a big portion, so much so we couldn’t eat one of the amazing creative salads on offer. Another great dish was the Thai Barbecue chicken, steeped in authentic Thai spices – yum! We saw some of the salads go past our table to other diners, very inventive and packed with flavour and unusual combinations.
So successful was its blood brother ‘The Hawks Nest’, the Phoenix is larger and more event focussed which London does need. Whilst the food was excellent, top of our list for return would be the ‘Passion Fruit Mescalita’, absolutely mouthwatering.
The Phoenix has certainly risen from the ashes and so much thought has gone into the design of it. Pop in for a drink or meal, you certainly won’t forget it. Only recently opened at the beginning of July, make sure you visit before you have to fight for a table! With the influence geared towards casual dining, there is no fancy crockery or cutlery, just the basics to enjoy in terms of food, just pure enjoyment.
