In a past life, this fabulous and rather opulent hotel was the home of Lords and Ladies of the Royal Court, and you feel that as you enter the reception area, it has a traditional, chic and luxurious air about it, you know instantly that your stay will be everything you require.

We were on a Christmas shopping trip and by the time we checked in we were exhausted. We entered our Kings Junior Suite kicked off our shoes and opened a bottle of bubbly, and then had a little tour of our fabulous suite,  it was large and well-appointed, including a luxury fully equipped kitchen, a comfortable lounge area, luxurious king-size bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. The décor was urban chic, with subtle colours and different textures to create a great feeling of high-end design. The space was well thought-out to maximum effect. The hotel was quiet and the room warm and inviting, we enjoyed our stay and felt very welcomed.

After a great night sleep in our sumptuous bed, we ventured down to the pretty dining room for a spacially aware and COVID safe breakfast. The choices were delicious, fruit, pastries, yoghurts and a variety of hot dishes, table service only of course. The coffee and orange juice we hot and fresh, we chose yoghurts and fresh fruit to begin, followed by a full English. The produce was particularly good quality and prepared so perfectly, with great attentive service.

The hotel in central London features between one and six bedrooms, each with expansive living areas to relax or work. Every suite boasts a fully equipped kitchen, providing guests with the choice of in-suite dining or enjoying one of the hotel’s celebrated restaurants in London, including Michelin-starred Quilon and the European Kona, famed for its creative afternoon teas.

Taj 51 is situated in St. James’ Courtyard, Westminster, peaceful and private in the heart of royal London. Described as London’s ‘inner sanctum’, ideal for that restful stay to completely relax and unwind.

In accordance with London moving into Tier 5 national restrictions, all food and beverage outlets, fitness centre and Jiva spa will be closed until further notice. We are still pleased to welcome guests travelling for business, work, education, self-isolation, key workers or anyone who is unable to stay in their primary residence.
