Soho Hotel London a chic hotel in the heart of Carnaby
We have been fortunate enough to stay in some of the most beautiful hotels globally and London has a huge selection of its fair share. This last weekend we spent an evening of exceptional quality at a most stunning and sophisticated hotel in the heart of Carnaby, Soho Hotel. The hotel is close to an eclectic mix of fabulous boutiques, cafés, restaurants, theatres, beauty salons, hairdressers, barbers, and clinics, it’s all there, just a stone’s throw away.
The hotel is perfectly placed for an exciting city break or romantic getaway, whether you spend all of your time in the hotel or venture out into the Carnaby area.
Soho Hotel is part of the Firmdale Hotel Group and it certainly lives up to its reputation of five-star excellence…
The Hotel has 96 individually designed bedrooms and suites and is situated on a quiet street in the heart of London’s entertainment neighbourhood, it’s surrounded by some of London’s best restaurants and bars, vibrant cafés and some of the most exciting theatres and nightlife.
We checked in and couldn’t wait to see our suite which was on the 5th floor. It was huge, bright and impressive. Our ‘One Bedroom Penthouse Suite’ was out of this world. It featured separate sleeping and sitting areas, floor-to-ceiling windows and doors leading onto a large terrace, which would be lovely to take advantage of in the Summer months. The bathroom was beautifully designed in granite and oak with a walk-in shower and double basins and of course included fluffy white toweling gowns and gorgeous bathroom goodies. The soft furnishings were sumptuous and comfortable, all areas were thoughtfully designed, a mix of checked and floral cushions created a homely feel. The large flat-screen televisions ensured you could catch up on your favourite TV shows and news. There was a well-stocked mini-bar, fresh flowers and interesting artwork.
When you’ve had enough of exploring the surrounding area we highly recommend the Refuel Bar, it serves modern cuisine with an emphasis on fresh, seasonal produce and the cocktails are to die for! This was also where we enjoyed our a la carte breakfast, which was completely divine. We had fresh fruit bowls, orange juice, steaming hot coffee, avocado, poached eggs, streaky bacon and a toasted bacon sandwich. The restaurant is as stylish as the rest of the hotel, full of yet more stunning artwork and artifacts gathered from around the world and creating an arty and interesting ambiance, around every corner there was something else to capture your imagination. The Refuel Bar was incredibly well-stocked and the mixologist was happy to deliver any cocktail of your choice or even create a new one!
The Soho Hotel team was friendly and attentive, catering to all of our needs – extra pillows, morning tea, a taxi, and local knowledge, they helped with everything.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Soho Hotel, it is now one of our favourite London hotels and we long to return, in the not too distant future.
