Life in the Luxuria Lifestyle world can be a little crazy at times, I’m not complaining I love to be busy, but sometimes a quick escape is good for mental health and Cornwall is the ideal destination to blow away the cobwebs and to recharge the batteries.

So when I was asked if I would like to experience a short stay in Sealight, a delightful cliff top holiday home, I jumped at the opportunity, my head needed a break away from the phone and laptop!

Sealight is just one of the dozens of home-away-from-home holiday rentals from Boutique Retreats and is located in the south of Cornwall, near Whitsand Bay. I chose this holiday home for it’s position on the top of a cliff with sea views and for the beach walks.

The property was quaint, ideal for a few days stay, the open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area was small but beautifully decorated and easy to maintain. It included everything needed for cooking, a dining table and sofa for two, outside dining and most important of all a fabulous hot tub for two, of which I took full advantage. Sealight has speedy broadband so if you feel the need to keep in touch with the outside world, you can. There was a shower room with a heated towel rail and a double bedroom with ample storage for a short stay. The large floor to ceiling patio doors meant I could enjoy a distant view of the sea. The lounge also has a wood burner ideal for those cosy romantic evenings in this lovely little love nest.

One of the most important issues for me when I need a break is that I go where my four-legged best friend is welcome and here he was. So the beach walks were a draw and from Sealight to the beach was quite a steep path, but luckily there were plenty of benches on which to rest, mainly used on the trek back up, but the perfect spot to enjoy the stunning view. The beach here was stunning, gently rolling waves, lovely sand and fabulous rock pools, my dog had a blast, we walked for miles when the tide was fully out, but beware it can catch you unawares and come in quite quickly and there aren’t any escape routes!

The surrounding area is rugged with stunning cliff walks, country pubs and pretty traditional fishing villages. Out of season it was quiet but I would imagine the summer months are different, when the sun is shining Cornwall is beautiful, and ideal for a UK staycation.
