Re place – A boutique recovery studio in the heart of Notting Hill
I love that our generation is into mindfulness, wellness and things to help our mental health; we constantly want to improve ourselves, become better, break the generational curses and heal our souls. That’s the journey I’ve been committed to these past few years, I want to try to experience more wholesome things and new activities, and if it promotes health and healing, I am there!
I came across this well-being brand called Re Place, a boutique recovery studio in the heart of Notting Hill. The main focus is to offer recovery and wellness by experiencing their innovative Body Rollers and Somadomes.
Before discovering Re Place, it was the first time that I’d seen a Body Roller; I had no idea what it was, what it did and how it could benefit me. Body rolling is a unique, non-invasive experience where you place parts of your body on this machine whilst it rotates around, helping to reduce cellulite and improve the texture of your skin.
Body Roller
What is it?
It’s a massage machine with infrared technology, chromotherapy, collagen lamp and air ionisation.
How long is the session?
45 minutes
What do I wear?
Gym wear and socks (pack some water too)
I first placed my feet on the body rolling machine whilst it rotated, and my instructor told me that most people find this part incredibly ticklish and start laughing, and before I knew it, I burst into a fit of giggles. After my feet got used to the sensation, it felt so relaxing. Then the little video shows you the next body part to try on the machine. Each body part is on the Roller for around 3 minutes per area. I can’t describe the feeling; it’s unusual but an enjoyable experience.
Benefits:
Reduces water retention
Great for lymphatic drainage and encourages the body’s detoxification process
Speeds up the removal of excess fluid
After 5-10 sessions, customers saw improvement in the appearance of cellulite
Increases energy levels
Improves sleep
Helps to speed up body recovery after gym sessions
Somadome
When looking to improve your stress levels or mental health, people often suggest that you meditate. I find meditating incredibly hard, so when I read about the Somadome experience, I was interested to see how it would be different. The pod uses colours, lights and magnet therapy, creating calming surroundings to help you to relax. You also have headphones to block out outside noise encouraging focus.
My favourite part of this experience is choosing what you would like to listen to; I listened to the Law of Attraction manifesting playlist, of course! It was twenty minutes of listening to a manifesting playlist, and I fully immersed myself in the experience. I completely shut off from the world, and for the first time, my mind wasn’t wondering what was for dinner later.
I love how it’s not just about what we’re eating and what exercise we’re doing, so many things can impact our mental health, from the people you surround yourself with, from the things you read, watch and listen to, and I think it’s great that it’s now about looking after your spiritual and mental well-being by practising meditation and alternative therapies. Meditation can deepen your self-awareness by sitting still and quieting the mind, and it’s a powerful tool to combat our stress levels.
Overall, I loved my afternoon at Re Place; it was fun and different from the usual massage; I left feeling relaxed and energised. If you want to take some time out to help combat life’s stresses and anxieties, Re Place is the perfect choice!
