Laphroaig 10-year Whisky

Laphroaig, 10 years old, is the definitive Islay peated single malt, distilled following traditions laid over the last 200 years by passionate master distillers. It’s a staple for connoisseurs and a peaty rite of passage. ​Its unique flavour profile is conjured from malted barley, which is first cold-smoked over peat fires, like only a handful of distilleries.

The grain is then dried over those same fires and tossed on the malting floor facing out to sea. It spends the next ten years in ex-Bourbon barrels. Because a full decade is what it takes to create our full-bodied 10-year-old whisky with bold smoky flavour, notes of salty seaweed, and a lingering sweetness. Sip neat or over ice. Highland Park recently unveiled a new look for its existing range of 12, 15 and 18-year-old award-winning single malt whiskies. The new design is inspired by the natural beauty and creative spirit of its home in Orkney and customers can get their hands on the new packaging just in time for Christmas.

It is a fresh-faced, zesty whisky with a natural glowing colour which comes directly from the cask. Spicy but mellow, with subtle smoke on the finish, it’s a great introduction to the unique warmth of Orkney heathered peat—and the convivial spirit of Highland Park’s Island home.

To create the well-rounded character of the 12-year-old, Highland Park harmonises hand-selected, first-fill, sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks, which together deliver the main flavour profile of spicy-sweetness and mellow warmth. Additional refill casks round out the powerful notes from the first-fill casks, resulting in a classic, easy-drinking whisky that’s always finely balanced.
