Léoube Wines – A Taste of Provence

True reflections of Provence’s coastal terroir, Château Léoube’s organic wines are celebrated for their unmistakable freshness, minerality, and impeccable quality. Nestled between warm summer sunshine and cooling sea breezes, these vineyards produce grapes that embody the true spirit of the region. Harvested by hand, each grape reflects the estate’s dedication to sustainable, organic viticulture, ensuring exceptional wines full of flavour and balance.

Provence is world-renowned for its rosés, and Château Léoube stands proudly among the best. Crafted under the expert guidance of renowned winemaker Romain Ott, Léoube’s award-winning wines are a true expression of the region’s character. Their classic AOC Côte de Provence rosés are delicate, balanced, and expressive, showcasing the unique coastal terroir. In addition to these sought-after rosés, the estate produces a superb range of sparkling, red, and white wines—all made with the same meticulous attention to detail and reverence for nature.

When the Bamford family acquired Château Léoube in 1997, they entrusted Jean-Jacques Ott, a well-respected expert from the neighbouring Clos Mirielle estate, to guide them through the transition to organic farming. His son, Romain Ott, joined Léoube in 2000, bringing with him generations of winemaking expertise. Combining traditional techniques with modern innovation, Romain has since shaped the estate’s wine production, crafting wines that reflect both the terroir’s natural gifts and his deep understanding of Provençal vineyards.

At Château Léoube, the approach is simple: respect nature, embrace sustainability, and create exceptional wines that tell the story of Provence’s unique coastal landscape. From its delicate rosés to its robust reds, each bottle is a testament to the estate’s unwavering commitment to quality and heritage.

Edouard Delaunay Septembre Pinot Noir 2020

About: A fresh, elegant and contemporary Pinot Noir offering exceptional value for money, made by fifth-generation Burgundian winemaker Laurent Delaunay, Great Grandson of Edouard Delaunay who founded the estate in 1893.

More than 30% of the mostly handpicked grapes come from the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits to lend structure and complexity to the blend with half being aged in oak barrels, the rest are from Saône- et-Loire and the Couchois area (northwestern Côte Chalonnaise), sought after for their freshness.

Bursting with aromas of raspberry and redcurrant followed by a slightly smoky hint, then in the mouth the wine is fresh, velvety with flavours of morello cherry and rhubarb. It has a good balance with appealing saline acidity.

How to serve: A beautiful match with a pan-fried duck breast.

Piper-Heidseick Champagne

“Since 1785, Piper-Heidsieck has been making history by doing things differently. Its past, present and future continue to be marked by passionate people, who dare to be different and defy the odds. They became the first Champagne House to feature on film in Laurel and Hardy’s 1933 ‘Son’s of the Desert’,  were a firm favourite of Marilyn Monroe, and in recent years became the first B Corp-certified champagne house, reaffirming its pioneering spirit and commitment to sustainability.

Piper-Heidsieck’s ‘Cuvée Brut’ is the house signature, made from a blend of 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Meunier and 20% Chardonnay sourced from over 100 ‘crus’, representative of the great diversity of the Champagne terroirs. The blend contains at least 30% reserve wines and is aged for a minimum of two years on its lees in Piper-Heidsieck’s cellars deep beneath Reims. It is fresh, elegant and balanced.  Its nose offers delicate notes of pear, white peach, citrus and orange blossom. The palate also reveals aromas of toasted bread, fresh almonds and mint—a champagne for every occasion.
