Luxuria Lifestyle interviews Sylvia Wong co-owner of Ariva Serviced Residences Las Vegas
Sylvia Wong, co-owner of Ariva Serviced Residences in Las Vegas, has redefined luxury living with her vision of combining elegance and comfort in a thriving urban environment. Her innovative approach has made Ariva a premier choice for upscale accommodations in the city.
What inspired you to establish Ariva Serviced Residences in Las Vegas, and how did you choose the city as your location?
The idea of Ariva Serviced Residences was born out of my personal experiences. I travelled frequently to Las Vegas for business for extended periods. While stays at the hotel are nice, I was yearning for more privacy and convenience. For example, a healthy lifestyle is important to me and I appreciate the ability to cook simple, healthy meals. This is not an option in a hotel room like it is at a facility like Ariva.
How do you differentiate Ariva from other luxury serviced residences in Las Vegas?
To my surprise, there are no similar luxury serviced residences in Las Vegas. One can find on Airbnb or similar platforms houses or apartments that individual owners rent out, but the quality can vary significantly and I can say with confidence that there is nothing at our level.
Can you share some insights into the design and amenities that make Ariva unique?
Ariva Serviced Residences is conveniently located less than 15 minutes from the famous strip within a gated community called Ariva Luxury Residences. The community’s 30-acre grounds are beautifully landscaped with indigenous plants suitable for the desert weather in Las Vegas. The community has over 3 acres of outdoor amenity spaces and over 25,000 square feet of indoor amenities. To name a few, it has 4 swimming pools, 2 spas, firepits, barbeque grill areas, a state-of-the-art fitness centre, a yoga/cycle studio, a business centre, a conference room a basketball court and a sand volleyball court. Guests of Ariva Serviced Residences enjoy all of the above amenities. What’s more, each unit in Ariva Serviced Residences is furnished with high-quality stylish furnishing, is well-stocked with new cookware and dinnerware, and features a large washer and dryer.
What challenges did you face in launching Ariva, and how did you overcome them?
The main challenge is awareness and getting more people to learn about Ariva Serviced Residences. Because of the 31-day minimum stay requirement, most of our guests are business travellers who are working on extended projects. But it also fills a need for other types of travellers, including those working remotely, as well as leisure travellers wanting to visit the area for extended stays.
How do you ensure that Ariva maintains a high standard of service and customer satisfaction?
It starts with senior management leading by example and setting the standard. We are fortunate to have a very good team that is dedicated to delivering an outstanding service experience consistently.
How does Ariva cater to the needs of both long-term residents and short-term visitors?
Our minimum stay is 31 days, so there are no short-term visitors at Ariva Serviced Residences. That said, our guests’ stays have ranged from 31 days to 9 months. The needs of the guests are similar whether they stay one month or a year.
What role does sustainability play in the operations and design of Ariva Serviced Residences?
Sustainability is very important to us and we practice it wherever possible. For example, we use full-size Grown Alchemist bath products and do not use small plastic containers.
Can you share any plans or developments for Ariva Serviced Residences?
Since we launched Ariva Serviced Residences in March of this year, we have grown from 4 apartments to 40 apartments. The growth is driven by the market demand, and we expect growth to continue.
What advice would you give to entrepreneurs looking to enter the luxury serviced residence market?
I would say the most critical element is to focus on the guests and meet and exceed their expectations. Once we do that, everything else will naturally fall into place.
