Abbotts & Delaunay ‘Les Fleurs Sauvages’ Pays d’Oc, Viognier 2023
This 100% Viognier is made from grapes grown on hillsides in the Hérault and the Aude Valley in the South of the Minervois. Thanks to the neighbouring Cévennes and Pyrenees mountain ranges, the limestone and pebble vineyards benefit both from plenty of rainfall and sunshine which concentrate the flavours in the grapes to an incredible intensity. This is a decadent, fragrant wine reminiscent of Condrieu, bursting with notes of peach, apricot and almond, as well as ginger spice and orange blossom. While the palate is creamy and textured thanks to lees ageing, the early morning picking of grapes ensures a balancing freshness to the wine.
How to serve: A delicious match for roast chicken with all the trimmings.

Ormarine Cuvée Estela Picpoul de Pinet, 2023
Ormarine’s Cuvée Estela is an elevated expression of Picpoul de Pinet. Aged on fine lees for a few months, this special process adds an elegant structure to the body of the wine. Though a method more commonly found in Champagne and white Burgundy production, it’s one of the reasons why the team at Ormarine are known for their innovative approach to wine making. Indeed, this lees aged Picpoul was the first white wine in Southern France to use this practice.
Cuvée Estela is made from 100% Picquepoul blanc grapes that are harvested at night to preserve the freshness. On the nose, it offers an abundance of acacia flower, hawthorn and nectarine notes. Fresh on the palate, with a pleasing length, this is a wine to be savoured.
Ormarine’s vineyards overlook both the Étang de Thau, a vast saltwater lagoon filled with oyster cabins, and the Mediterranean Sea. This location in the ancient vineyards of Pinet has a noticeable influence on the wines, imparting a moreish saline hint.
How to serve: Cuvée Estela pairs well with seafood and oysters, but due to its ageing on the lees and more complex flavours and textures than a classic Picpoul de Pinet, it is a natural match for richer dishes like a plate of oysters au gratin or a creamy fish pie.

The Royal Ballet Opera – presents the tale of Cinderella
The Royal Ballet and Opera (RBO) will reveal a magnificent tutu Christmas tree in the Linbury Theatre Foyer from Friday 22nd November for the first time in the theatre’s history. Crafted from recycled tulle and borrowed Royal Ballet tutus, the tree – designed by Hugo Dalton – reflects the heritage and artistry of the Royal Ballet and Opera. Adorned with decorations of singers, musicians, artists and more, the tree is a centrepiece of a snowy theme which will take over the whole house.
On Stage
On the Main Stage, The Royal Ballet presents the glittering rags-to-riches tale Cinderella and The Royal Opera stages Antony McDonald’s story-book production of Hansel and Gretel. Paris at Christmastime sets the scene for La bohème, with Speranza Scappucci, Principal Guest Conductor Designate, leading her first Covent Garden staged production. In the Linbury Theatre, Lost Dog offers an alternative Christmas show as Ruination returns, turning the classic Greek myth of Medea on its head.
We continue our largest ever Season of accessible performances, ensuring world-class ballet and opera can be enjoyed by everyone. Anyone with access requirements can join the free RBO Access Scheme, which offers tickets to performances designed to create a better environment for neurodiverse people and others with access requirements. Performances this winter include a relaxed performance of Cinderella for the Paul Hamlyn Christmas Treat, generously supported by The Helen Hamlyn Trust. Other accessible performances include La bohème, Hansel and Gretel (including a relaxed performance) and Ruination.
Restaurants and Bars
Four new festive cocktails – The Glass Slipper, Gingerbread House, Jagged Snowball, and a Down the Rabbit Hole mocktail, will be available from the Linbury Foyer Bar and the Piazza Terrace heated rooftop bar. A selection of delectable treats including classic mince pies, delicious gingerbread men, festive-themed coffees, sumptuous hot chocolates and mouthwatering cakes will be available in the RBO Café.
From Friday 29th November the rooftop Piazza Restaurant and Terrace Bar will offer a festive three-course set menu serving Christmas classics made with the best local ingredients (£65pp). The menu has festive favourites including a traditional turkey roast with pigs-in-blankets, duck fat roast potatoes, roast vegetables, gravy and chestnut stuffing, and a mouthwatering wild mushroom tart with an artichoke, spinach and goat cheese salad. Decadent desserts include cherry and amaretto Christmas pudding, and a dark chocolate and pecan nut tart with mulled wine-poached pears.

Bentley Motors and PICANTE unveil a seven-piece capsule collection.
Merging Bentley’s rich heritage with PICANTE’s modern design ethos, the collaboration evokes a unique celebration of the open road and the luxury of spontaneity.
