Kayon Resort Bali – A Luxurious Experience Awaits
The Kayon Resort, located in the heart of Ubud, Bali, is a magnificent, serene retreat that offers a revitalising experience surrounded by nature. Located in the traditional village of Bresela, approximately 10 minutes from the vibrant Ubud town centre, the resort feels worlds away from the hustle and bustle, providing visitors with a tranquil getaway with spectacular views of the tropical jungle and the neighbouring Petanu River.
Accommodation: A Blend of Comfort and Tradition
The Kayon Resort offers a variety of accommodation designed to immerse guests in Balinese culture while providing modern amenities. The resort features 23 spacious, well-equipped rooms, villas, and suites, all with a private terrace or balcony overlooking the verdant forest.
I stayed in one of the River Edge Pool Villas, which offered the ideal blend of luxury and solitude. Waking up every morning to the sound of the river flowing below and having my private pool to relax in felt like a dream. The rooms are attractively furnished with traditional Balinese accents while providing all of the modern facilities one might require, making it a perfect retreat from the outside world.
Serenity Spa and Wellness
One of the highlights of my trip was a visit to the Serayu Spa. I had the most beautiful massage from therapist Okta while listening to the relaxing sound of a nearby waterfall. It was an incredible experience—the mix of skilful hands, warm oils, and the serene natural setting elevated relaxation to a new level. The Royal Balinese Massage I chose felt incredibly restorative, and the spa’s tranquil environment, set in the jungle, only enhanced the peace.
The spa’s tranquil riverfront setting, with its green surroundings and serene atmosphere, creates a haven of relaxation and wellness. The treatments are based on traditional Balinese healing methods and are designed to leave you feeling entirely rejuvenated.
Exquisite Dining Options
The resort’s main dining area, Kepitu Restaurant, is situated by the pool with views of the surrounding forest. With an emphasis on using only the freshest, locally sourced ingredients, the meals were always excellent. I enjoyed the chef’s unique Balinese tasting menu one evening, which was a fascinating exploration of the area’s flavours. The restaurant serves a wide range of cuisines, so every meal is unique, whether you are in the mood for classic Western dishes or traditional Balinese fare.
For more intimacy, Canyon Jetty offers a riverbank location tucked beside the river, perfect for romantic evenings. I dined there one night, and it was a magical setting with flickering candlelight as I savoured freshly cooked seafood. The experience was enhanced by the surrounding sounds of nature while dining by the river.
The Jungle Pool
The Kayon Resort boasts a stunning environment. The peaceful ambience of the resort is enhanced by its construction around a natural waterfall. The gorgeous infinity pool, with its view of the jungle, was one of my favourite spots to unwind. Floating in the pool and gazing at the surrounding lush greenery and waterfall has a certain dreamy quality. The sound of running water provides a soothing backdrop to this wonderful place to spend a peaceful afternoon.
