Golf at Fairmont St Andrews in Scotland
With views overlooking the historic town and St Andrews Bay, our exquisitely presented golf resort is a naturally beautiful setting for golf experiences.
Golf courses in Scotland are among the best in the world and Fairmont St Andrews, situated in the “Home of Golf”, is proud to be recognised as one of the top golf resorts – voted “Best Hotel (Over 50 Rooms)” by Scottish Golf Tourism Awards in 2018. The golf courses offer championship links style golf with a tournament history continuing to grow after hosting the Scottish Youths International Championship on The Kittocks course.
In 2019 Fairmont St Andrews hosted the Open Final Qualifying utilising a composite course of our two courses. In late June 2021 they will be returning to the composite course for a second year and again in 2022 for the Open Final Qualifying for the 150th Open Championship.
The Torrance Course at Fairmont St Andrews was recently announced as the 2020 venue for the European Tour Scottish Championship from October 15-18. The Championship is one of three new tournaments announced by The European Tour as part of its reshaped 2020 international schedule.
The Torrance Course – Par 72 and 7230 yards
Designed by former Ryder Cup and golfing legend Sam Torrance, it’s marked by its deep revetted bunkers, large greens and links design. The Torrance has hosted the Seniors European Tour six times between 2009 and 2014, and continues to offer an enjoyable golfing experience to all of our guests and members.
The Torrance course is a traditional par 72 championship course where the front 9 works its way around the hotel prior to utilizing the property’s sea views on the back nine. Blending the principles of links golf with a more modern style, the course provides memorable golf days for players of all abilities. Contouring the Hotel, the Torrance course will test your short and long game. Its risk-reward design provides numerous options both off the tee and approach shots to the green.
