Ferrari Trento – Sparkling Wine Producer of the Year
For the seventh time, Ferrari Trento is confirmed as the world’s best sparkling wines maker, winning the prestigious title of “Sparkling Wine Producer of the Year” at The Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships, the most authoritative competition dedicated exclusively to sparkling wines. An accolade that rewards the excellence and quality consistency of a winery that, year after year, confirms itself at the top of the international wine scene and contributes substantially to the success of Italy. With 70 gold medals, the Bel Paese was in fact the most awarded country, ahead of France, Australia, Spain and the United Kingdom.
Thirteen gold medals were won in the 2024 edition, from the non-vintage wines, such as Ferrari Brut, through the Maximum and Perlé lines, to the House’s Reserves such as Ferrari Riserva Lunelli and Giulio Ferrari Riserva del Fondatore. All results that emphasize not only the excellence of each Trentodoc but also the winery’s ability to express the terroir’s potential to the full, across a wide range of labels, each with its own identity but sharing the same style.
‘We are extremely proud of this recognition,’ said Matteo Lunelli, President and CEO of Ferrari Trento, ’which rewards the work, passion and talent of our entire team. It is a result that testifies to our path of continuous pursuit of excellence and the extraordinary vocation of Trentino and its mountain viticulture, now consecrated at an international level.
Trentodoc, which was the first DOC in Italy exclusively dedicated to the Metodo Classico, was in fact also one of the most appreciated denominations by the judges in the 2024 edition of the competition.
Tom Stevenson himself, founder of the competition and one of the world’s leading Champagne experts, commented: “FerrariTrento is Sparkling Wine Producer of the Year for the fourth year in a row and an amazing seven times out of the 11 years The Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships has existed, making it the most successful sparkling wine producer on the planet! Unlike other similar awards, this trophy is purely performance- based, which makes it all the more remarkable that such a high level of quality can be achieved in both bottle and magnum formats across the entire range with such consistency from year to year.”
The awards ceremony will be held on 24 October at Merchant Taylors Hall in London.
Ferrari Trento is also nominated for the title of “European Winery of the Year” by the American magazine Wine Enthusiast, a title it had already won in 2015. The winner of the category will be announced on 14 November and the awards ceremony will be held in January 2025.
