Choosing glasses can be stressful, I’ve always felt a certain pressure when looking at myself with a selection of spectacles on, in that small mirror, with a salesperson looking over my shoulder, so to say that I was excited and thrilled when invited to choose a pair of prescription glasses and sunglasses from the huge Bloobloom range from the shop in Carnaby Street in London, would be an understatement.

I arrived at the Carnaby Street shop to be greeted by Patrick, the store manager, and Optometrist, and was immediately put at ease, he had a very caring, quiet, and gentle way about him. I had already had an eye test, but equally the store does offer free eye tests with qualified Optometrists. I was encouraged to have a browse on my own first and to make some selections, then the experts were on hand with advice and knowledge. Each spectacle design comes in a variety of frame colours, such as black of course, tortoise, peach, camo, sunrise, honey, lilac, chocolate, cognac and many more, as well as metal frames in silver, gold, rose gold, and gunmetal. The choice of shapes and colours is endless, they are beautifully detailed, lightweight and comfortable, and the Bloobloom team is on hand to take measurements and make adjustments to ensure maximum comfort.

I chose my reading glasses with ease and swiftly found some rather classy sunglasses too. My prescription reading glasses came with a couple of options, each pair of glasses comes with fully coated prescription lenses, plus a frame case and lens cloth and the choice of blue light filtering lenses for computer comfort, and this was my choice.  Most surprising of all is the price, just £95 all in, which includes your prescription, the only extra cost is £30 for the blue light filtering lenses on prescription glasses, but this is free on non-prescription glasses, delivery is also free if you’re not able to collect instore.

I was able to visit the store to make my choices, but Bloobloom also offers a highly efficient home delivery service whereby you can choose five pairs from the website and have them delivered to your home. They will ship them to you for free, you can try them on for five days and see which ones you like. When you have made your choice you purchase them online and they will send you a pair fitted with your prescription. As soon as your five days are up you return your trial frames using the prepaid label, it really couldn’t be easier and there is no obligation to buy!

My prescription glasses and sunglasses are expected to arrive within five working days and I can’t wait, this was a stress-free experience and the cost is incredibly competitive. Bloobloom has super stylish, glasses both prescription and fashionable as well as sunglasses for men and women.

Particularly impressive is the Bloobloom ‘Pair for Pair’ scheme, whereby for every pair sold another is donated to someone in need. However many pairs they sell, they make a donation to cover the cost of giving away the same number overseas. The non-profit partners give out those donated glasses and train local people to provide eye care, which ensures that someone is able to learn and work towards achieving their full potential, and in a most stylish way!
