Location, location, location, isn’t that what we’ve always been told is important in life? Well we certainly landed in the right location in the Amber Lombok Beach Resort & Spa, it’s truly one of the most stunning spots this island has to offer.

Nestled on the pristine white sandy beaches of Lombok, this resort is a must for those looking for both adventure and relaxation.

From the moment we arrived, we were excited to see the stunning location—truly a five-star setting that offers not only breathtaking views but also a great opportunity for surfing enthusiasts. The resort’s proximity to some of the best surfing spots in Lombok makes it a must-visit destination for anyone who loves to ride the waves.

We spent a morning on Salong Belanak beach just a quick 10-minute drive from Amber Resort having two-hour one-on-one surf lessons, on a pristine long white sandy beach, it was a fantastic experience, one we will forever savour.

We were fortunate enough to stay in one of their two-bedroom beach view villas, complete with a private pool. The villa was spacious, beautifully designed, and offered a spectacular view of the ocean. The private pool was a fabulous touch, that enabled us to enjoy a little pool privacy while soaking in the stunning beachfront scenery. The villa’s layout was thoughtful, offering plenty of space for relaxation, and the modern amenities ensured a comfortable stay.

The accommodation at Amber Lombok in my humble opinion was a good four-star rating. The décor was tasteful, blending contemporary, practical design with traditional Lombok touches. The beds were comfortable, ensuring we had restful nights after days spent exploring the island and enjoying the resort’s facilities. The only minor downside was that the bathrooms, while clean and functional, could benefit from a bit more luxury to match the overall ambience of the resort, and more towels changed more often, rather than every three days. However, this small detail did not detract from our overall experience.

The resort’s dining options were a highlight of our stay. The food was exceptional, with a menu that offered a delightful mix of local flavours and international cuisine. Each meal was delicious, whether we were enjoying a leisurely breakfast with a view of the ocean, a poolside lunch, or a romantic dinner under the stars. The fresh seafood dishes were particularly memorable, bursting with flavour and cooked to perfection. The attentive service from the restaurant team added to the experience, making us feel well cared for throughout our stay.

Evenings at Amber Lombok were great as the resort features entertainment on several evenings, and we were especially impressed by the talented vocalists who sang a huge range of amazing hits creating a relaxing atmosphere.  The live music, coupled with the gentle sound of waves in the background, made for an unforgettable evening.

The resort’s pool area deserves special mention. The main pool is not only beautiful but also perfectly situated taking advantage of the beautiful ocean views. We spent our afternoons lounging by the pool, sipping on refreshing cocktails from the bar, and just soaking in the magical surroundings. The pool was always clean, and there were plenty of comfortable sunbeds available, ensuring that we could relax in comfort and style. Early evening we enjoyed the sunset from the beach on the beanbags pre-dinner with a glass of something cool and bubbly, watching the sunset over the sea is always a special memory that we feel privileged to enjoy.

Beyond the resort itself, the location offers great opportunities for exploration. The staff were more than happy to arrange activities for us, from our surfing lessons to guided tours of the island. Their local knowledge was first class which helped us to make the most of our time in Lombok. For those who prefer to stay within the resort, the spa offers a range of treatments, we took full advantage of the spa and each put ourselves in the capable hands of the well-trained therapists with traditional Balinese therapies, full-body massages and facials, each tailored to our requirements, an absolute must to further enhance your stay!

In conclusion, Amber Lombok Beach Resort & Spa offers a blend of luxury, comfort, and adventure. While the accommodations might be rated four stars, the overall experience feels decidedly five-star, thanks to the stunning location, exceptional food, and warm, attentive service.
