The beach villas, nestled along the pristine shoreline, are set amongst dense foliage providing a sense of seclusion and serenity. The private pools, a highlight of both villa types, offer a refreshing escape and the perfect spot to unwind while taking in the stunning surroundings. Dining

One of the highlights of my stay at Amari Raaya was the culinary journey enjoyed at the resort’s three fabulous restaurants. From delectable local Maldivian cuisine to international flavours, the diverse menu options cater to all dietary requirements.

At Amaya Food Gallery, the resort’s main restaurant, guests are treated to a buffet-style dining experience, the dining choices change daily.  The freshness of the ingredients and meticulous preparation truly elevate the dining experience. The daily food offerings for breakfast are also showcased in Amaya Food Gallery, and they are impressive and will set you up for the day’s activities.

The other main dining option that I experienced was Amper&and, an adventure into Pan Asian-inspired dishes served from the beachfront, restaurant or rooftop bar with fabulous views of the beach and ocean. The food and drink options highlight local ingredients, the best in premium imported meats and the freshest seasonal seafood caught the very same day. The delicious flavours of Maldivian and Asian cuisines go back to basics highlighting freshly grilled meats and garden-fresh vegetables. The dining experience here is casual but sophisticated, and the cocktails are delicious.

Recreation

Amari Raaya doesn’t just stop at providing luxurious accommodations and exquisite dining; it also offers a range of recreational activities to ensure a well-rounded and memorable stay. The resort’s dive centre is a haven for underwater enthusiasts, providing access to some of the world’s most renowned dive sites. The experienced dive instructors and guides make exploring the vibrant marine life of the Maldives an unforgettable experience. There are paddle boards, kayaks, snorkels, tubes and flippers to borrow. The jet ski tour that was arranged for our team members was a couple of hours never to be forgotten, swimming amongst manta rays being the highlight.

For those seeking relaxation and rejuvenation, the maai spa is a wellness sanctuary. The spa’s therapists offer a range of treatments inspired by traditional Maldivian healing techniques, leaving guests feeling pampered and revitalized. I indulged in a perfectly relaxing massage, with aromatic oils applied with expert hands, that left me feeling completely refreshed.
