Luxuria Liestyle interviews: Kiera Chaplin the Face of Bufarma

Kiera opens up to Luxuria Lifestyle about her journey with the brand, the powerful story behind its ingredients, and how Bufarma is making waves in sustainable skincare, all while staying rooted in purpose, passion, and authenticity.

What inspired you to launch Bufarma, and what gap in the market were you looking to fill?

I didn’t launch Bufarma per se, but I was lucky to come across an incredibly innovative product and immediately knew I wanted to be part of it. I truly believe this is something new and great, Buffalo milk is an absolute powerhouse for skincare, packed with lipids, vitamins, and antioxidants that deeply nourish the skin. It’s gentle yet highly effective, making it perfect for all skin types. When I saw the potential, I had to jump in because I knew it was something special that needed to be shared.

Bufarma focuses on sustainable beauty and wellness. How do you ensure your products align with this philosophy?

Sustainability is at the heart of Bufarma. From sourcing high-quality, ethically produced buffalo milk to using eco-conscious packaging, every decision we make is intentional. We focus on clean formulations, free from unnecessary chemicals, and prioritize ingredients that are not only effective but also responsibly sourced. It’s about creating beauty that feels good, inside and out.

Your brand emphasizes the use of “science and nature in perfect harmony.” Can you tell us more about how Bufarma combines these two elements?

I believe the best skincare isn’t about choosing between nature and science, it’s about blending them seamlessly. Bufarma takes the powerful natural properties of buffalo milk, like its rich lipids and vitamins, and enhances them with cutting-edge skincare technology. Our motto is “The land is our lab,” and we truly live by that. We harness nature’s best ingredients and refine them with modern science to create formulas that are both effective and sustainable.

Can you share some details about the research and development process behind Bufarma’s products?

The formulas were originally created by the buffalo farmer’s grandfather but had never come to light. Now, they have been reworked and modernized to meet today’s skincare standards. Every product goes through extensive research and testing to ensure it’s both safe and effective. Skincare experts have helped refine these formulas, making sure that the natural potency of buffalo milk is preserved while enhancing its benefits with active ingredients that support hydration, repair, and anti-ageing.

What are some of the hero ingredients in your skincare range, and what makes them so effective?

BuAalo milk is, of course, our star ingredient, it’s rich in lipids, vitamins A and E, and antioxidants, which help with hydration, barrier repair, and anti-ageing. In our scrub, we use apricots and coffee seeds for gentle yet effective exfoliation, and in our serum, we have grape native cell extract, which is packed with antioxidants and helps promote skin regeneration. Every ingredient is carefully chosen to complement the nourishing properties of buffalo milk.

Many beauty consumers are becoming more conscious of what they put on their skin. How does Bufarma cater to this growing demand for transparency and clean beauty?

I understand that people want to know exactly what they’re putting on their skin, and they should! That’s why we’re completely transparent about our ingredients—no hidden nasties, no unnecessary fillers. Every formula is carefully crafted to be effective yet gentle, and we’re proud to be part of the clean beauty movement.

How does Bufarma prioritize sustainability in its sourcing, packaging, and production?

We go above and beyond to ensure sustainability in every step of our production. One thing we’re particularly proud of is that we are the only brand using a 100% recycled pump. Most pumps contain a metal spring that prevents them from being fully recyclable, but we searched everywhere until we found a pump that is both fully recycled and completely recyclable. It’s small details like this that make a big difference in reducing waste and protecting the environment.

Are there any upcoming initiatives or partnerships aimed at furthering your commitment to ethical beauty?

Bufarma is now supporting the Desert Flower Foundation, and I’m over the moon about it! I’ve been heavily involved with the Desert Flower Foundation (DFF) for many years, so having Bufarma support their mission is incredibly meaningful to me. DFF is dedicated to educating young girls and fighting against female genital mutilation (FGM), allowing them to live safe, healthy, and empowered lives. Beauty isn’t just about skincare, it’s about self-care, confidence, and having the right to make choices for yourself. Partnering with DFF is a way to ensure that beauty and empowerment go hand in hand.

What have been some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced in launching and growing Bufarma?

Like any business, there have been challenges! The beauty industry is incredibly competitive, so breaking through the noise and educating people on the benefits of buffalo milk has been a key focus. Another challenge has been ensuring that our sustainability efforts remain at the forefront without driving up costs too much for consumers. That being said, the response has been positive! People are excited about something new and innovative, and it’s amazing to see how well-received Bufarma has been.

What is your long-term vision for Bufarma? Are there plans to expand into new product categories or markets?

Absolutely! We have a lot in the works. We’re expanding our range with a hand cream and sunscreen, two essentials that we’re excited about. There are also a few other products launching soon, and we’re looking at expanding into international markets. The goal is to make Bufarma a leading name in sustainable, effective skincare.

You’ve had an incredibly diverse career, from acting and modelling to entrepreneurship. How has your background influenced your approach to building Bufarma?

My journey has shaped the way I approach business. In modelling and entertainment, you learn that beauty is more than just appearance, it’s about confidence and how you take care of yourself. Travelling the world also opened my eyes to different beauty traditions, and that curiosity led me to discover buAalo milk’s incredible properties. I wanted to be part of a brand that reflects everything I’ve learned, the beauty that’s effective, luxurious, and rooted in both science and nature.

What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs looking to enter the beauty and wellness industry?

Go into it with passion and purpose. The beauty industry is crowded, so you need to have a clear vision and something that truly sets you apart. Do your research, stay authentic, and don’t cut corners, consumers are smart, and they can tell when a brand is genuine. And most importantly, don’t be afraid of challenges; they’re just stepping stones to success!
