Ian Macleod Distillers’ whisky brands: Glengoyne, Rosebank, Smokehead, and Tamdhu

This Father’s Day, toast to tradition, craftsmanship, and character with four remarkable Scotch whiskies. From Glengoyne’s sustainable Highland charm to Rosebank’s elegant Lowland legacy, Smokehead’s rebellious Islay edge, and Tamdhu’s sherry-cask splendour—each offers a distinctive way to celebrate dads who appreciate exceptional whisky and unforgettable experiences:

Glengoyne is generally acknowledged to be the most beautiful distillery in Scotland. This Highland distillery near Loch Lomond is situated close to Glasgow. Known for its ‘unhurried’ approach as one of the slowest distilled whiskies in Scotland and it has an appealing fruity character unlike any other. Importantly, this is a highly sustainable distillery more about 100% green energy use and sustainable packaging. Glengoyne offers award-winning tours and tastings that mean this distillery regularly tops lists as one of Scotland’s top whisky destinations. It is open to visitors year-round with bookable tours and tastings where people can create their own Glengoyne single malt or pour their bottle from a distillery cask.

Rosebank is the ‘King of the Lowlands’ of Scotland – a non-peated, triple distilled, Lowland Single Malt. It is considered one of the finest Lowland malt whiskies due to the fruity floral style produced through triple distillation. Whilst Rosebank distillery has a long and proud history, it has recently been rebuilt and offers to whisky enthusiasts a superb experience at its new distillery – which has won awards for tourism and for architecture – located in the heart of historic Falkirk, a short hop from Edinburgh. There is a residency there which has recently opened (see below).

Smokehead turns on its head what most people think of when they hear ‘whisky’. Forget adjectives like ‘classic’, ‘predictable’, and ‘historic’. Smokehead’s brilliantly rebellious approach challenges traditional whisky norms, embracing a daring and unconventional style that appeals to adventurous spirits. Smokehead embodies bold flavours, and extreme expressions, and when it’s poured, it inspires fresh new serves. The Smokehead logo hints at the bold character within, and each expression in this collection is quirky, interesting, delicious and, as you might expect, smoky. It is distilled in Islay and the brand soon celebrates a significant anniversary.

Tamdhu from Speyside is a grand range of ultra-premium whiskies, boasting the distinction of being the only distillery in Scotland to fully mature all their single malt whisky in Oloroso sherry casks. It is a historic distillery, having operated for over 125 years. We will be announcing an exciting launch later in the Spring. The Tamdhu Residency at the Rosebank Distillery is new this year and invites whisky aficionados to experience the brand in one of the most scenic distillery settings in the world.
