Tucked away in the picture-perfect village of Kingham, The Kingham Plough’s Little Barn promised a cosy countryside escape, and it delivered in every possible way. Choosing this charming retreat for a birthday getaway felt like the perfect decision, but what truly made it unforgettable was the way the staff went above and beyond to make the occasion feel extra special.

From the moment we arrived, the Little Barn exuded warmth and character. Its rustic wooden cladding blended seamlessly with the Cotswolds landscape, while inside, the inviting lounge—complete with a log burner—instantly made us feel at home. The open-plan kitchen and dining area were thoughtfully designed, offering everything needed for a self-catered stay, but with the Kingham Plough pub just a short walk away, we knew we’d be indulging in their renowned cuisine at least once during our visit.

After settling into our lovely little barn, we wandered over to the pub for a celebratory dinner. The food was as spectacular as we had heard—fresh, local, and beautifully prepared. But the real surprise came at the end of the meal. Just as we were finishing up, the staff emerged with a small birthday plate, and a round of warm smiles.
