Achillea Beauty is a progressive and sustainable skincare brand specifically dedicated for exercise. We are the first and only company to have developed a facial mist that gets activated by motion – increased heart rate, blood pumping close to the skin surface and open pores. This unique state of the skin during exercise is what we leverage in order to enhance the post workout glow, hydrate skin to maintain a youthful appearance and keep the pores clean and unclogged.

Numerous studies and specialised books have empirically proved that exercise training causes adaptations in the skin blood flow response as well as in the cutaneous microvascular activity. Working out increases blood circulation which brings new nutrients and oxygen to the cells which improves cellular turnover, collagen production and the delivery of active ingredients. Whilst you’re being active, your skin is also working hard as the tiny arteries on the face open up allowing more blood to reach the skin’s surface and deliver nutrients which help fibroblasts (the collagen producing cells) work more efficiently. Pores are also open and as long as they are clean and unclogged, they are in the most receptive state outside your induced pore opening facial. There is no other time when the skin finds itself in such a profound circumstance and we want to leverage it. We are the first and only ones to do it.

Our exercise dedicated skincare ritual contains three products, all handmade, hand poured, vegan and sustainable. Our packaging is 100% recycled and further recyclable and we donate 10% of each sale towards planting trees. Our norm defying pouch that attaches and holds the hero spray to any size and shape water bottle is probably the most wonderful packing solution – made of leftover materials (fruit leather) – it’s an industry first that sees fruit waste as a precious starting material, eco-friendly, animal friendly, super cool and practical.

Our super active ingredients have been highly researched and tested, it took us over 3 years to perfect and test the formula and get it to the right stage. Our cocktail of potent actives has been sourced from around Europe (UK, Switzerland, Italy, Romania) and we are 100% transparent on the full list, being as close to natural, clean ingredients as possible. We use yarrow (Achillea Millefolium) in all our products due to its extraordinary properties (anti inflammatory, antimicrobial, moisturizing, soothing, purifying and anti-aging) – it’s like a magic wand in the ingredients’ world. It is also a local Romanian plant, found in abundance that attracts hundreds of pollinators and butterflies and it’s also an amazing benefactor for increasing soils’ nutrients and acting as a fertilizer for trees. Its Romanian nickname is the mouse’s tail due to its resemblance to the little rodent’s back end. Hence our logo shows a little mouse and our brand’s name is Achillea.

It promotes refreshed, hydrated and conditioned skin, all ready for applying our hero spray – A drop of magic spray during your workouts. Once the exercise is over, this is the third step in our motion activated beauty routine that will also swiftly remove impurities whilst soothing skin and readying it up for the cocooning in-shower mask – Jelly by now. We always recommend cleansing the skin before and after exercise.

A drop of magic is a featherweight, skin-nourishing thick spritz that is brimming with hyaluronic acid, to attract water and maintain moisture levels during exercise. The perfect way to boost dewiness without suffocating your complexion, A drop of magic motion activated spray has a uniquely small molecule that gets fast and deep into skin layers. It helps calm any redness and combat dehydration. It also addresses stressed skin by plumping up parched cells and diminishing fine lines for a luminous, youthful appearance. This is our hero product, the only beauty product developed specifically for workouts. It is the second step in the motion activated beauty regime that will deliver a boost of confidence, feel-good feeling throughout your exercise.

Jelly by now mask provides a serious min-spa feast for your post workout complexion. A cocooning and active mask, it works in two minutes whilst you’re showering post-workout. It fights inflammation and redness, whilst flooding the skin with pillowy hydration. The last step in our motion activated beauty regime, it is infused with a potent cocktail of goodness, this soothing mask swaddles post exercise skin in a plush, protective veil to tackle the key signs of dullness, sensitivity, lost elasticity and redness. Achillea Beauty’s founders are Andreea and Laricea. They are both millennials and were born in Romania. Whilst Andreea is still living there Laricea moved to London 15 years ago. Andreea is a biotechnology engineer, with more than 10 years of experience in the field. Nowadays she gets to enjoy life in the countryside and lets herself get inspired by wildlife and flora around the beautiful area she lives in. At the same time she is crafting beautiful cosmetic products inspired by nature and clean beauty. When she is not busy in her laboratory, Andreea is reading, getting her hands dirty while attempting to work in the garden and hiking.

Laricea is a marketing strategist with a career spanning over 15 years, who is also very passionate about beauty and exercise. She is very passionate about diving, skiing, traveling and reading. Being the author of a book on brand purpose called “A brand’s purpose…Less Unicorn, more zebra?”, she wanted to make a difference in the world and create a brand that has a clear purpose and gives back.

Their passion for the environment, all things natural and beautiful, but also their interest in sport and being active brought Laricea and Andreea together for a greater cause.

The AHA moment came back in 2018 during a boxing class when Laricea’s face was crying for “a drink”. Being super passionate about face care, she was longing for a product that works as hard as she does during exercise time. A formula that celebrates physical activity (no matter what that is!), sweat, heart beats, but also the environment and ultimately the oxygen that fuels all sports.
