New hidden rooftop, Sabine London
I’ve found the new hidden gem rooftop hotspot in the heart of St Pauls with the most beautiful view of St. Paul’s Cathedral and London’s skyline. It’s called Sabine, and it’s on the top floor of the Leonardo Royal Hotel.
Rooftop settings are so much fun; you can catch up with friends listening to good music, enjoy a few cocktails, and eat some delicious sharing dishes. I ordered around six dishes for two, the portion sizes were generous, and it was great to try some new things.
There are two sections, The Green House and The Terrace, the difference being, The Green House has a retractable roof, and The Terrace is an uncovered outdoor terrace with stunning views. Their opening times are great because they are open as late as 2 am between Thursday and Saturday, making it the perfect place for a date night!
For cocktails, I chose the frozen Daiquiri as it was a warm sunny day, I wanted something fun and refreshing, and this did the trick. Cocktails always taste better when paired with a scenic view, and this outdoor terrace had the wow factor. Whether rain or shine, this rooftop destination is the perfect hotspot to enjoy light bites and a stunning view.
Light bites include freshly baked sourdough with salted butter, honey and sunflower seeds, tandoori prawn skewers with Asian slaw with mint chutney and mac and cheese with truffle mayo, a personal favourite of mine! The food wasn’t too heavy, especially when you’re drinking too, light and flavoursome and something you could graze on throughout the evening.
There are also some strong contenders for dessert, a dark chocolate dome with dacquoise biscuit, hazelnut crunch with gold chocolate mousse, a delectable Sabine summer mess, Mango and Passion fruit, vegan vanilla cream with meringue and a selection of frozen mochi. I opted for the mixed mochi because they are such a unique dessert and super fun to introduce to people who haven’t tried them before. They’re one of my favourite desserts, especially as there’s a range of flavours depending on your mood.
The atmosphere is lively and fun, with music playing from the outdoor speakers, and if you’re feeling a chill in the air, you can cosy up with one of their blankets; this was a lovely added touch.
Sabine is the perfect place for afternoon drinks in the city, a catch-up with friends or a romantic date night; it has everything you need for an enjoyable evening. It’s a beautiful venue with charming staff who ensure you’re well looked after, a great way to spend your summer evenings!
