Back on Black at The Grove – The ultimate Golf Tournament
Back on Black is the ultimate tournament experience at The Grove, made up of four qualifying rounds, culminating in the Grand Final, playing off the ‘tips’ – giving you an entire championship, a competitive experience like no other.

The Format
Strokeplay format; 95% handicap (maximum 18.4); men black tees, ladies front tees; longest drive 9th hole & nearest the pin competition 16th hole.
As well as tournament entry, the £159 entry fee includes a Full English Breakfast in The Players Lounge, 18 holes of golf and Taylormade Goodies.

Qualifier 1 – Sunday 28 May
Qualifier 2 – Sunday 18 June
Qualifier 3 – Sunday 23 July
Qualifier 4 – Sunday 20 August
Final – Sunday 24 September
Qualify for a prize-filled grand finale
The top five players in each qualifier (including ties) will be invited to compete in the Back on Black 2023 Grand Final taking place on Sunday 24 September 2023.
Prizes will be awarded for 1st – 3rd place in each qualifier.
The Course
Join the greats of the game including Tiger Woods who won the World Golf Championship here in 2006. We’ve been recognised for our commitment to the environment, women in golf and our outstanding service. But the best bit – there’s no membership here, we’re open to all.
The Players Lounge
This purpose-built extension sits at the heart of The Stables complex and is a focal point for the many golf functions, golf society bookings and corporate golf days that take place at The Grove each year.
Designed to bring ‘the outside in’, the walls of the Players Lounge are floor-to-ceiling glass panels, the centre panels on each side sliding back during the warmer summer months to allow guests full access to The Stables’ courtyard area.
