Knoops in London expertly crafting chocolate drinks
Last weekend I visited the new Knoop’s Store in Knightsbridge on my way home from shopping at the world’s leading luxury store, Harrods, which is one of their stocklists. I heard through the grapevine that Knoop’s hot chocolate is one of the best in London, so I immediately needed to try it for myself.
I tried various hot chocolates based on levels of richness, flavour and milk alternatives, and I can vouch that they do not compromise on the taste. For someone who has a dairy intolerance like myself; Knoop’s has so many milk alternatives that you’ll be so spoiled for choice. They even have a range of oat milk hot chocolate flakes which shows inclusivity for those with intolerances and vegans.
Must try sweet treats:
Raspberry brownies, literally melt like butter in your mouth
Flapjacks, 10/10, phenomenal
You can make these delicious hot chocolates from the comfort of your home and they taste just like the ones in the store made by the experts. I kid you not; this will be the most luxurious homemade hot chocolate you’ll ever taste! It tasted so unbelievable that my house got through two tubs of flakes in one week, as we had them several times per day! Not only are they easy to make, but the hot chocolate shaker is also easy to clean and store!
How to make the most sensational hot chocolate at home:
Warm your milk in the shaker
Put the shaker in the microwave without the lid on
Take out of the microwave and add 8 teaspoons of chocolate flakes to the milk
Put the lid on, and shake for 10 seconds
Pour and enjoy!
I would usually associate hot chocolates with winter time; when they taste that great, you have to drink them all year round. They also serve iced chocolate drinks, coffee, mochas and tea. The iced chocolate drinks are another winning combo; so creamy and delicious!
How to make summery iced chocolate drinks:
Make a small but strong hot chocolate
Top up with cold milk
Add ice cubes or for that extra indulgence, add vanilla ice cream
Shake, shake, shake, and pour
The Knoop’s concept is based on a percentage menu of different cocoa percentages which is great for someone who loves trying new things, and different flavours depending on your mood. Your expert barista will help you to create a drink you love by helping you to experiment with different percentages and combinations. They call this process Knoopology, I’ve tried so many flavours and they are each so delicious, each time I go, I love talking to the baristas and trying to invent my next go-to!
