Vinha Boutique Hotel stands out for being the most luxurious hotel in Porto. Surrounded by flowering gardens and lawns in Vinha Boutique Hotel, you can enjoy a sense of well-being in a unique and inspiring atmosphere. The level of hospitality from all the staff made the trip unforgettable.

Situated on the left bank of the River Douro, just 10 minutes from the historic centre of Porto, Vinha Boutique Hotel is surrounded by gardens and lakes in an area of 3.5 hectares. It originated from the renovation of a palacete, a historic manor house, to which was added a new modern building that reinterprets the elegant terraces on the slopes of the Douro vineyards.

Upon arrival, I instantly got the impression that Vinha Boutique Hotel is very vibrant, welcoming and luxurious. When we arrived at the hotel, we were given fresh coffee, and our luggage was taken to our room. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly with huge smiles on their faces!

Our River View room was decorated in a style inspired by the great international maisons of fashion and interior design. From the wallpaper to the standing bathtub, it oozed luxury. The bathroom was complete with Jo Malone amenities and a huge balcony overlooking the River Douro.

One thing that didn’t go unnoticed during my stay was how personalised the service is when you stay at Vinha Boutique. I had daily surprises of chocolate delivered to my room, for someone with a sweet tooth this was amazing! I also received a huge bouquet of flowers and every staff member remembered my daily coffee order at breakfast. They remembered every detail which made the experience very personalised.

At Vinha Boutique Hotel, there are different ambiences dedicated to food and flavour. This is a place where guests can enjoy the finest dining and wine experiences created to mirror and reveal the traditional Portuguese cuisine by the hand of Henrique Sá Pessoa – a 2 Michelin stars Chef. Vinha Boutique Hotel has several different eating spaces, such as:

VINHA RESTAURANT – a gastronomic experience signed by Chef Henrique Sá Pessoa – 2 Michelin Stars. An elegant and creative place with a Private Dining Room available.

TERROIR RESTAURANT – A comfortable atmosphere where breakfast and lunch take place, with a terrace for good weather, overlooking the hotel’s gardens and the Douro River.

RESERVA BAR – the ideal place for any rendezvous or a simple moment of break, where having a drink, tea or enjoying a snack gains another emphasis, with a terrace next to the old gardens of the palace.

POOL BAR/ LE TERRACE – located next to the hotel’s swimming pool.

All of the food we consumed during our stay was delicious. We experienced nothing but excellent service and tasty food. The Rigatoni with broccoli pesto and dried tomato was a personal favourite, along with a side of spicy potatoes and green beans. Vinha Boutique had a wide range of fine wines on offer which made our dining experience.

To fit the brand of luxury, inside Vinha Boutique is a Sisley Paris SPA, the first in northern Portugal. The SPA has an area of 500m2 fully dedicated to wellness and wellbeing, including an indoor swimming pool, a Vitality pool, four treatment rooms, one Vichy shower, a sauna, a Turkish bath, Hammam, an ice fountain, a sensation shower, relaxation areas and a fitness studio. You also have the opportunity to shop the cosmetic products.

Since the early days, the property has started defining a new paradigm in hospitality and quickly became a reference for its timeless elegance and design which invites the guests to live a journey of senses from the moment they step in. All the decoration pieces across the hotel were handpicked by the owners themselves and most rooms were inspired by the greatest maisons in the world. Hermès, Christian Lacroix, Etro, Ralph Lauren, Missoni, Kenzo, Nobilis, Manuel Canovas or Pierre Frey, became the motto to offer a unique accommodation experience, fairly complemented by the high-end British brand Jo Malone as amenities.

It was apparent that the hotel oozes luxury from the high level of detail that has gone into creating and running the hotel. It’s the perfect place to create new memories and celebrate special occasions.

Vinha Boutique Hotel offers an Afternoon Tea experience which is a great choice for a small group of friends or family gathering. You will find an elegant atmosphere for your relaxing afternoon tea moment and a delicious menu. We sat in the Reading Room surrounded by a stunning interior for our Afternoon Tea. We devoured a bread assortment and Kings cake toasts along with a delicious selection of fine pastries & delicate sandwiches. We enjoyed handcrafted jams and butter and herbal teas. This was an amazing treat surrounded in the most perfect setting. The staff went above and beyond to make the Afternoon Tea extremely delicious.

During our stay, we dined at DOP. DOP restaurant offers you unforgettable gastronomic experiences, a journey through the true classics of Portuguese cuisine recreated by the hands of Chef Rui Paula.

In a relaxed, quiet and informal setting, we enjoyed a fine dining experience in the heart of Porto. We allowed ourselves to be surprised by the suggestions, full of originality, which Rui Paula prepared. We tasted delicious food and tried new foods we would never usually have. The wine pairings were superb.

Overall, Vinha Boutique exceeded our expectations. This is a first-class hotel recognised for being luxurious and elegant – it was a joy to be a guest at this hotel.
