West Midland’s Safari Lodges – a mixture of luxury lodges and premium cottages
If you’re looking for a luxury lodge designed to give you an immersive and unforgettable overnight wildlife experience, West Midlands Safari Lodges is the place to be! It’s hard to believe these lodges are placed in the West Midlands, as you really do feel like you are in Africa with the peaceful surroundings and woodland areas.
West Midlands Safari Park has a mixture of luxury lodges and premium cottages, designed to give you an up-close and immersive overnight wildlife experience like no other. Each lodge is integrated into the newly-updated reserves, with spectacular views overlooking the elephant, cheetah, red panda, rhino, giraffe, and tiger habitats.
Before the concierge takes you to your Safari lodge, driving around the safari is a must. You will have the opportunity to get close to spectacular animals such as elephants, giraffes, and lions and this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience! This is an estimated time of 2 hours and you can stop to see the animals as you drive around. You are also welcome to visit the safari as often as you like during your stay. You will receive a brochure that explains what animals you can feed and you also get given animal food from reception. You have the opportunity to feed the giraffes if you wish, which I recommend!
Rhino Lodge
The Rhino Lodge really represents an African-themed lodge, from the interior to the amazing views. The four two-story lodges sleep six people and are the only overnight experience with white rhinos in the UK. The ground floor provides an open-plan living space with a secluded chill-out nest that doubles up as a cosy double bed, as well as a kitchenette and balcony offering ground-level views of the rhinos. A spiral staircase leads to two bedrooms with a super king and two singles, along with another balcony, providing panoramic views of the rhinos and Safari.
The interior really oozes luxury, with the lodge itself being immaculate. Included in the lodge is Wi-Fi, an outside balcony, breakfast and dinner, a two-day Admission Ticket to West Midland Safari Park and all attractions, widescreen TV, hot drink-making facilities, robes, a microwave, Noble Isle Toiletries, 24-hour concierge, bedding and towels.
Breakfast and dinner are pre-ordered before your stay and you can choose a timeslot for dinner. This will be brought to your lodge by the concierge who was so friendly and welcomed us during our stay. We woke up to the most amazing views and had our morning coffee on the balcony in our robes. There was an impressive herd of white rhinos grazing outside our lodge and we also caught glimpse of giraffes and zebras too which was a huge bonus!
The lodges are great to book if you are looking for an immersive experience that you won’t forget. It’s something that’s perfect for the whole family to enjoy, whether you’re looking for a couple getaway or a family staycation.
Safari Park’s Magical Christmas Event is back
Christmas is approaching which means Santa has landed at West Midland Safari Park, ready to meet guests for its annual Santa Safari Christmas event. From 25 November and running daily until Christmas Eve, guests will have the chance to see Santa during the day, or on selected dates, visit Santa in his grotto during the evening’s Lantern Festival event.
The Park’s Discovery Trail has been transformed into a winter wonderland, with over 400 Christmas trees, lights, baubles, new photo points, and even thick layers of ‘snow’. Additionally, the Park has installed two amazing winter lantern scenes, which look incredible during the day, but really come to life when the sun sets.
Tickets can be booked in advance via the Park’s website, where guests can also see the calendar of events here
Bookings for the lodges and further information can be found on the Safari Lodges website
