Located on the left bank of the Douro River, a few minutes from Porto, VINHA Boutique Hotel is the most recent luxurious hotel in town.

Inaugurated in 2021 and nestled on 3,5 hectares property of lush gardens and river front views, the hotel is an idyllic scenario for a perfect urban retreat, offering a perfect blend between a city experience and a nature haven on earth.

A place where guests can enjoy the finest dining and wine experiences created to mirror and reveal the traditional Portuguese cuisine by the hand of Henrique Sá Pessoa – a 2 Michelin stars Chef. Also known as a destination for wellness, VINHA Boutique hotel offers a Sisley Paris Spa and a wide range of outdoor activities.

A paradox between classic and contemporary sets the tone of the architecture and design for this project. The central piece of the hotel is a meticulously converted 16th century manor house, set in its own extensive natural grounds attached to a new wing designed in pure and clean lines as the elegant slopes of the Douro vineyards.

The manor house is the heart and soul of the hotel where is located the Vinha Restaurant, the Reserva Bar and the Sisley Paris Spa, the first in northern Portugal. Aside, there are also some guest’s rooms at the manor house overlooking the Douro River. The remaining rooms and suites are located at the new wing.

Since early days the property has started defining a new paradigm in hospitality and quickly became a reference for its timeless elegance and design which invites the guests to live a journey of senses from the moment they step in. All the decoration pieces across the hotel were handpicked by the owners themselves and most rooms inspired by the greatest maisons in the world. Hermès, Christian Lacroix, Etro, Ralph Lauren, Missoni, Kenzo, Nobilis, Manuel Canovas or Pierre Frey, became the motto to offer a unique accommodation experience, fairly complemented by the high-end British brand Jo Malone as amenities.

The hotel’s gastronomy offer is entirely signed by the acclaimed 2-Michelin Stars Portuguese Chef Henrique Sá Pessoa. The highlight is Vinha, the fine dining restaurant where the dishes are inspired by the typical and authentic Portuguese cuisine sprinkled with world influences by the chef. Its elegant dining room features décor from the Moooi brand.

Fully separate, the restaurant has a private room for fine dining in a more exclusive and intimate setting. There is also an outside terrace overlooking the river and the lush gardens of the hotel.

The Reserva Bar offers a disruptive, innovative approach, where guests can enjoy an ambience full of character, modelled on the concept of the classical club, for private moments or for gatherings, but here transposed into a space that everyone can enjoy and with the Douro River as the backdrop. A place where the creative freedom leans towards international gastronomy and where guests can enjoy an informal meal, try a classic or signature cocktail, choose from a careful selection of wines by the glass, among other proposals, such as teas, herbal teas, kombuchas, natural fruit juices, or consult a list of exclusive drinks. The Bar also has a terrace with a view of the river and manor house gardens.

The hotel offers a state-of-the-art spa by Sisley Paris – the first and only SPA from the Parisian brand in the northern Portugal. The SPA has an area of 500m2 fully dedicated to wellness and wellbeing, including an indoor swimming pool, a Vitality pool, four treatment rooms, one Vichy shower, a sauna, a Turkish bath, Hammam, an ice fountain, a sensation shower, relaxation areas and a fitness studio. At the same grounds, it is also offered a shopping experience of the French brand cosmetics products.
