Karma Salford Hall – The Vale of Evesham

Shakespeare, spa and arts & crafts style, Karma Salford Hall mixes relaxation and award-winning dining with the most absorbing history and heritage.

The in-house Tempest Restaurant is a Food Awards Midlands Winner 2022.

With its beautiful Tempest Restaurant having recently secured “Hotel Restaurant of the Year 2022” for the Midlands at The Food Awards, England, Karma Salford Hall, a historic thirty-two bedroom Country House retreat owned by renowned worldwide resort company, Karma Group, is gearing up for a busy Autumn Season.

With glorious autumn colours in the Vale of Evesham, set amongst the rolling hills and farmland of the English Cotswolds – designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – Autumn can indeed be a fantastic time to visit what is one of the prettiest rural regions anywhere in the British Isles. And where better to stay in this amazing area than Karma Salford Hall, a listed building rich in heritage that dates back 700 years and once belonged to King Henry VIII?

A short tour within a twenty-mile radius of Karma Salford Hall takes in Shakespeare’s regular stomping grounds, from his birthplace, Stratford on Avon, to Henley-in-Arden, and historic Kenilworth and Warwick. Leamington Spa is another must-see, charming town, that along with Stratford-on-Avon, is famed for its Regency architecture and shopping opportunities.

Whether it’s for a foodie break, to enjoy a range of relaxing spa treatments or to enjoy the many nearby attractions, there’s something for everyone at Karma Salford Hall. Couples, families and business travellers can all enjoy staying here. Nestled amid farms, fields and ancient villages, this charming building has retained its Tudor charm and character in every nook and cranny, whilst offering traditional yet contemporary comforts!

Along with its thirty-two bedrooms, Karma Salford Hall has the award-winning Tempest restaurant, together with a library, games room and bar. Celebrating the English Arts & Crafts style founded by another of the Cotswolds’ famous former residents – William Morris, each bedroom is slightly different, with many featuring four posters, print wallpaper, oakwood furniture and colourful upholstery. There are three room types to choose from, all en-suite, and offering a choice of double, twin and four poster beds.

Superior Rooms at Karma Salford Hall are larger than the Classic Rooms, featuring classically styled double beds, each with premium mattress and soft cotton bed linen, some with four poster beds. The spacious rooms feature en-suite bathrooms with baths and showers, while windows offer views across acres of beautifully manicured gardens.

Several bedrooms are dog friendly, just ask when you book if you’d like to bring your four-legged friend!

The main dining room at Karma Salford Hall is located in an opulent panelled hall and serves a range of local and European dishes, with an emphasis on locally sourced, farm-to-table ingredients. The Bar area with its comfy sofas and fireplace offers a traditional pub atmosphere. Room service is also available and packed lunches can be prepared for day excursions.

And now to The Tempest Restaurant, which under Head Chef James Woodham’s stewardship, recently impressed The Food Awards England judges winning Best Hotel Restaurant of the Year for the extremely competitive Midlands area. Situated in a panelled hall with period features and chandeliers, enjoy exquisitely prepared English and European favourites as well as some international fare inspired by Karma’s global forty-four strong portfolio of resorts. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner alongside afternoon tea.

In the Karma Spa guests can experience both traditional and 21st-century Asian-infused therapies, with treatments including the Sea Salt Detox ritual, the soothing Himalayan Oil & Warm Stone massage, or the luxurious ‘healing hands’ manicure.

“Having experienced a very busy summer season which saw the return of many regular customers, plus new guests and Karma Club members discovering us for the very first time, we are really looking forward to the autumn and festive season here at Karma Salford Hall,” said General Manager Adrian Willmers. “Securing the Best Hotel Restaurant Award for the Midlands in the English Food Awards, an extremely respected competition amongst the hospitality industry, was the icing on the cake for us. Our experienced and talented Head Chef James Woodhams, and his team, have worked very hard in absolutely nailing delicious food across a variety of cuisines. Any guests staying here can be assured of a truly memorable dining experience.”

Adrian went on to say that Karma Group also has its own exclusive range of specially curated Karma Group wines to be enjoyed by guests, a handpicked list offering vintages and boutique wines from some of the world’s most renowned labels. Recent additions include a Rosé from France’s Carcassonne, home to Karma Chateau de Samary. A new Sauvignon Blanc, from Pascal Jolivet, will be joining the portfolio in the next couple of months. Other Karma Group wines include a Chianti from Tuscany, Rosés from both Provence and Australia, a Beaujolais from France, and a Burgundy, also from France.

And it doesn’t just end with wine. Karma Group is additionally involved in the world of fine spirits. A signature handcrafted small batch gin has also been added to the Karma cellar, a spirit crafted from botanicals sourced from the destinations where the group’s resorts, hotels, and retreats are located. The most recent addition to the Karma spirits repertoire is Coachbuilt Whisky, developed by Formula One legend Jensen Button. Karma Group is the official resort partner for this premium blended Scotch single malt whisky which is being rolled out initially across Karma resorts in the UK and Europe.

“Making sure our guests have access to exceptional wines and spirits of all types is all part and parcel of the Karma Group experience,” added Adrian. “We want them to feel special the whole time they are with us. Many of our products are unique to us and certainly inspire conversation and debate.”

He finished by saying: “All in all, we believe that our ambience, five-star service, and overall offering in this truly unique building, ensures that Karma Salford Hall offers a quintessentially English experience that will linger long in the memory. Come and discover it now!”
