If you’re after a relaxing but instagrammable café and bar in the very heart of Covent Garden, here is your spot, The Garden at The Lane in Drury Lane.

The Lane offers a wide variety of dishes, from brunch, lunch and serving platters to coffee, cakes, pastries and cocktails. It’s a beautiful venue, and it is a hidden oasis with walls ensconced with a multitude of flora and fauna. The atmosphere is calm, quiet, pretty and peaceful.

The all-day food and drink menu includes specialty coffee (by Extract Coffee Roasters), artisan cakes and pastries (from Lily Vanilli bakery), all-day brunch, light lunches and a selection of classic dishes.

We ordered a couple of delicious cocktails and the sharing cheese plater. We began in the Cecil Beaton Bar with the cocktails and then ventured into The Garden for our sharing platter. We had a variety of gorgeous cheeses, pickles, chutney and delicious crackers, it was plenty for a lunchtime treat. We finished with a steaming hot coffee and a slice of cake, perfect pre-retail therapy sustenance!

As The Lane is open all day and into the evening it is the ideal venue for that pre-theatre treat or post-theatre cocktail. The dishes are fresh and tasty and it really is the most wonderful eatery for an intimate dining experience, equally, it’s great for small groups or meetings.
