Flore Quo – Innovative Luxury
The new luxury lifestyle brand, FLORE QUO, has launched the Viva clutch, its first clutch bag collection Made in Italy.
FLORE QUO was born out of the desire to encourage sustainable fashion choices while still giving the customer the ability to vary their look from time to time. Good design is a sustainable design. To encourage sustainability, the innovative design of the clutch frame was the subject of considerable research and development to enable the ornaments sitting on the pedestal of the clutch to be interchangeable. The jewel-like, crystal encrusted clasps can be changed to suit the occasion, mood or cause supported by the customer, representing a marriage of fashion and jewellery. Like jewellery, FLORE QUO’s innovative bags can be treasured as heirlooms and remain relevant over time.
By designing and engineering bags with interchangeable ornaments using the latest technologies (from 3D printing the prototypes of the hardware to avoid wastage, to using the latest CAD technologies to design the hardware and the intricate, jewelled clasps), FLORE QUO is enabling customers to use their bags for longer and more sustainably.
FLORE QUO is the creation of Florence Tsang, a lawyer, whose passion for fashion, jewellery and sustainability inspired her to reinvent the classic clutch and launch other styles of sustainable bags that will be available shortly. Seeking out innovation in design and excellence in execution, Florence is pioneering a new category of accessories that fuse fashion and jewellery, uniquely as one.
The brand’s name was inspired by the Latin origin of the name, Florence (I flourish), and the Latin phrase, Flōrēbō quōcumque ferar (I will flourish wherever I go). FLORE QUO signals the dawn of a second career for Florence and is trail blazing a path for a truly modern kind of luxury.
Florence’s desire to bring back quality to fashion accessories that women invest in and expect to wear repeatedly, over long periods of time, has sent her searching for the highest standards of craftsmanship around the world.
The interchangeable, jewel-like clasps create multiple opportunities for elegant, fashion loving and stylish women to be playful with their accessories. Women will be able to buy fewer bags and have more opportunities to wear a perennial favourite.
The brand believes that luxury does not have to come at the expense of the planet, and it is passionate about reducing its environmental footprint where it can. Hence, they take great care to avoid using any unnecessary plastic at all stages of production, use packaging made from FSC certified materials and design their packaging to maximise recyclability.
The Viva Clutch is currently available in two finishes:
The Black Nappa clutch has an exterior coated in a smooth leather for a truly classic finish. Beautiful Nappa leather makes for durability, and the interior is meticulously lined with fine-grain lambskin. The bag comes with two antique-gold finished ornaments: a regal ornament in the form of a Crown, made up of deconstructed butterfly wings and embellished with Swarovski crystals; and a playful V-sign ornament. Also included is a beautiful antique-gold chain for a hands-free effect.
The Purple Viva clutch is exquisitely crafted using an empurpled calfskin leather exterior for a classic finish that lasts from dusk to dawn, in the brand’s signature shade. The leather is specially feathered to add to its unique design, permitting a fluffed-up style or a smoothed-down, sleek style, with a buttery and lightweight lambskin interior for luxurious softness. Featuring FLORE QUO’s iconic, interchangeable Crown and V-sign ornaments in antique gold, encrusted with Swarovski crystals, with a conveniently detachable chain.
For AW21, the brand will launch the Viva clutch in a Floral Nappa featuring FLORE QUO’s house print, contrasted with a pale pink Nappa interior. The house print has been specially designed for FLORE QUO by acclaimed textile artist, Joanna Green, and showcases two flowers representing the birth of the Viva clutch. The Bauhinia blakeana represents the city of Hong Kong, the birthplace of the creative founder and the Iris Florentina inspired the symbol of the city of Florence in Italy for centuries and stands for the region where the research and development of the Viva clutch took place.
FLORE QUO is about timeless design and impeccable craftsmanship that will stand the test of time and trends.
The Black and Purple Viva Clutches retail from £791 and £1,550 respectively and are available to purchase now at Flore Quo
